National framework
In accordance with the EU directive 2001/77/EC on the promotion of the electricity produced from renewable energy source (RES), and the Kyoto Protocol, France has set an objective of 21% of its national electricity consumption from RES.

Over 10000 MW of additional RE capacities will have to be built in order to reach this goal. Simultaneously, a similar effort will be required for optimising the consumption, including energy efficiency and demand side management measures.

More recently, the opening of the local communities market to competition is also a real opportunity for allowing the development of innovative RES based, dispersed electricity plants.

Field of activities
• Off-grid photovoltaics
• Grid-connected photovoltaics
• Solar thermal
• Energy efficiency & Demand side management
• Wind energy
