A solar thermal system aims at producing energy as a contribution to basic
energy needs such as hot water supply and heating for individual housing
and collective buildings.
The system collects solar energy and heats water via an energy transmitting antifreeze fluid. In some cases it is combined to a gas, fuel or electrical backup that ensure a permanent heat supply, whatever is the level of irradiation.
These systems allow significant energy savings, by reducing the gas, fuel or electricity bills. They also help in the greenhouse effect fight, by removing a large part of the CO2 emissions generated by traditional solutions.
